It is the largest and most famous gorge of Crete, 38km. from Chania. It is open from May to October. Within the 18 km. walk through the canyon, visitors can enjoy the magnificence of Cretan nature, which is also the refuge of the rare Cretan wild goat. At the end of the hike, which lasts 5-6 hours, walkers come to Agia Roumeli, where they are rewarded with one of the best beach swims of their life!
