Municipal Market

Municipal Market

The Municipal Market is one of the most important modern monuments of Chania.

It is regarded as one of the most significant closed markets of Europe. Made with raw materials from the walls of the Old Town and was completed in 1913 as part of the EU’s celebrations of Crete connection with Greece.

This majestic closed cross-type structure, with controlled doors on all four sides, which houses more than 70 shops, one can find almost all the local products, traditional cuisine and traditional arts.
